Lusk: Hey Arthi, thanks for joining me today. Congrats on winning the Transformation of The Week, tell me a little bit more about your background.
Arthi: Thanks, Chris. I’m glad to be here. I have been in the software industry for over two decades, starting with traditional software engineering, building large scale cloud native systems, and gradually shifting my focus towards AI driven solutioning and product development. With a double master’s in computer science and mathematics, I have a strong analytical foundation for tackling complex engineering challenges.
I lead the technical architecture and AI solutioning of an enterprise AI platform. I own the AI technical strategy and best practices, defining AI frameworks, mentoring teams, and driving scalable AI adoption. I also spearhead innovation driven by Gen AI, integrating it with data intelligence and automation to enhance decision making and customer insights.
Lusk: That’s a really impressive background. What got you interested in Gen AI specifically?
Arthi: My interest in Gen AI comes from its potential to revolutionize how we interact with and derive insights from data. Unlike traditional AI, which focuses on predictive analytics and rule based automation, Gen AI enables dynamic reasoning and content generation opening new possibilities for intelligent automation and decision making.
In my recent role I have explored Gen AI and AI agents and basically I have explored how they can enhance enterprise solutions and are driving efficiency and innovation. The challenge of making these models production ready, balancing the cost, latency, and robustness, has been particularly engaging as it’s key to deriving and delivering, scalable, real world AI solutions that create tangible business impact.
Lusk: Now, you graduated from our second cohort of the AI Engineering Bootcamp around ten months ago, have you been able to put anything that you learned in the class into practice at work?
Arthi:Yeah, The AI Engineering Bootcamp sort of provided me a structured framework, for understanding the Gen AI patterns, the LLM architectures and the evaluation techniques, which sort of refined my approach to building and scaling AI solutions. Since completing the program last year, I have applied these learnings to develop and deploy Gen AI solutions in an enterprise AI platform, incorporating AI agents, RAG implementations using LangGraph, LangChain, LangSmith and RAGAS. These innovations have enhanced retrieval efficiency, data interactions, and AI driven automation, making AI more impactful in real world applications.
Lusk: Now you’re out there building, shipping, and sharing like a legend. Can you tell us about any of the projects that you’re currently working on?
Arthi: I’m focused on scaling our enterprise Gen AI platform to accelerate AI adoption across Informa’s event and content business. We are leveraging AI for dynamic matchmaking, automated content curation, and real time sales and marketing insights with the goal of personalizing engagement, optimizing interactions, and driving greater business impact across event content and customer experiences at this point.
Lusk: So what words of wisdom do you have for someone out there watching this right now who is considering a move into Gen AI?
Arthi: For those with a background in cloud and software engineering, AI is a natural progression. Start experimenting and you’ll uncovering exciting opportunities to apply it. Build on your strong software principles. AI is most effective and supported by scalable software, cloud and data engineering foundations. Think beyond prototypes. The real challenge is making AI production ready, so consider focusing on factors like cost, latency, security in your early development. The most important, stay adaptable. AI is evolving rapidly. Engage with open source communities, research papers, industry trends to stay ahead. And AI Makerspace is definitely one of those and I’ve benefited a lot from it.
Lusk: Arthi, thank you so much for joining me today and congrats again on winning the Transformation of The Week, where can people connect with you?
Arthi: Thanks, Chris. Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn.
